Very rarely were the curtains drawn back. When they were however, a group of framed colour prints, lovingly arranged, revealed themselves on the wall. I never saw a person in the room, only an occasional flicker of a shadow. I imagined a photography admirer, possibly even a soulmate, living close by, who made himself/herself comfortable in a couch and, looking at those pictures, dreamed themselves away.
*I've borrowed the title of this post from the same named film. Well worth watching.
Hi Omar - that's a nice sense of nighttime and a quiet room - hard to get nighttime pictures that aren't overwhelmingly garish.
ReplyDeleteYou should go and give them a knock or even stand in the garden with your hands on your hips and your Nikon jutting out from your chest!
Hi Phil. Düsseldorf has these long periods of heavy clouds. If one can see through the gloom, they do give this lovely colour at dusk.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather leave them at peace ;-)
I'd just stand there so that you on the lawn with your camera is the first thing they see when they open their curtains in the morning.
DeleteDusseldorf sounds quite similar to here - we get some wonderful weather, but then also long, grey patches where nothing changes.
